About Me

I originally started this blog to write about being part of the sandwich generation.  I had the hope of being able to reach out to others in similar situations and get a dialogue going, have a place to share tips etc. However, being part of the sandwich generation didn't allow me the time to write the bloody blog (inhale, deep breath, relaaaaaax) so there was very little activity.

I am no longer part of the sandwich generation, both of my parents are now dead. My daughter and my granddaughter live with me, so that helps to keep life interesting, fresh and in perspective.

Reading has always been a significant part of my life, but lately the need for escape has been greater than usual.  So since I am reading a lot, I decided to let this blog morph into a place to review books and on occasion, opine or whine as the case may be, about whatever suits me.

Most book reviews will be on books of the mystery/thriller genre.  I have been reading this type of book for as long as I can remember, as far back as the Bobbsey Twins, Trixie Belden, Nancy Drew, Nurse Cherry Ames and my all time favorite Stewardess, Vicki Barr (giving my age away just a wee bit).  But there will also be reviews of children's literature, since I have a live-in eight-year-old critic and a three-year-old visiting critic, to help with those reviews. And I have always loved the art work that is an integral part of many children's books.

So as I creep up to retirement age and deal with whatever else life has in store, I will share the books I'm reading with whoever is interested.

Happy reading!
